Smile – Watercolor rainbow splash card :)

Hello everyone! For the first post on my new blog I decided to show you this card. I recently discovered the word of card making and I literally fell in love with it! There are so many nice things that you can make that I could not resist: I had to get a few supplies and embark in this new adventure! Last month I made some Christmas themed cards, which I would like to share with you soon (even if Christmas is gone) but today I wanted to show you this card, really easy but I think really pretty. So let’s start from the start.
I got inspiration for this project from this YouTube video by Scraps and Stamps. I really liked the idea of the rainbow splash and I wanted to give it a try. The card base is a standard piece of black cardstock cut at 4 1/4 by 11 inches, and scored at 5 1/2 inches. For the front panel I cut a piece of white watercolor cardstock to be slightly smaller than my card base, so that I would be left with a black border around it. Using some clear water I wet the watercolor cardstock trying to distribute the water in a pattern similar to a splash, and I added my watercolors following the rainbow order. I left the paint relatively free to move so that it would form a smooth transition between the colors. After everything had dried I used my paintbrush to create some splatters with my watercolors. I thought this would add some more interest to the card. I cut the sentiment using my brand new “Smile” die from the My Favorite Things Sending Hugs Die-Namics die set, and adhered it to the front panel using some white glue. I covered the back of my card front with foam tape and attached everything to the card base. And that’s it! A really easy project, but I like it a lot because of the contrast between the black sentiment and card base and the bright rainbow colors 🙂

CARD AD ACQUERELLI CON SFONDO ARCOBALENO A EFFETTO SPLASH – SMILE 🙂

Ciao a tutti! Nonostante abbia parecchi progetti realizzati da tempo da condividere, oggi, per il mio primo post sul nuovo blog creativo, ho deciso di mostrarvi questa card. Ho recentemente scoperto il mondo del cardmaking e me ne sono innamorata! Ci sono così tante cose carine da realizzare che non ho saputo resistere: ho comprato un po’ di materiale e mi sono lanciata in questa nuova avventura! Ho realizzato alcune card a tema natalizio che vorrei mostrarvi presto (anche se il Natale ormai ce lo siamo lasciati alle spalle), ma il post di oggi sarà dedicato a questa card, semplice ma d’effetto. Ma andiamo con ordine.
Per realizzarla ho preso ispirazione da questo video su YouTube del canale Scraps and Stamps. L’idea mi è piaciuta molto e ho voluto provare a riprodurre lo stesso effetto.
La base è una card in formato A6 realizzata con del cartoncino nero. Per il pannello frontale ho utilizzato della carta per acquerelli che ho tagliato ad una misura leggermente più piccola della base nera in modo da avere un bordo intorno una volta assemblato il tutto. Per realizzare lo sfondo ho bagnato la carta cercando di creare una forma con l’acqua che ricordasse una macchia. Dopodiché ho steso gli acquerelli seguendo l’ordine dei colori dell’arcobaleno, lasciandoli liberi di muoversi, in modo da ottenere una transizione morbida tra i vari colori. Usando le mie nuovissime fustelle “Sending Hugs” di My Favorite Things ho ritagliato la scritta “smile” da del cartoncino nero e l’ho fatta aderire al pannello usando della colla vinilica. Infine ho incollato il pannello alla base della card usando del nastro biadesivo in schiuma.
Et voilà. Questo progetto è davvero di facile realizzazione, ma l’effetto mi piace molto per via del contrasto tra il bordo e la scritta nera e i colori brillanti dell’arcobaleno 🙂
Mi sto davvero divertendo a realizzare queste card, e ho già qualche ideuccia per i prossimi progetti… Spero di riuscire a realizzarli e condividerli con voi quanto prima! Per ora vi auguro una buona giornata e a presto!
