Hello everyone! Today’s project was inspired by this week’s sketch challenge hosted by the MFT* Challenge and Inspiration blog. I went for a simple and clean card, trying to use soft colors (unfortunately the picture does not really do them justice), and I am pretty happy with the result. Plus I really couldn’t wait to color this absolutely adorable bear from the MFT Beary Special Birthday stamp set, so I jumped at the occasion and designed this card.
The base is a standard piece of white card stock cut at 11 by 4 1/4 inches and scored at 5 1/2 inches. I made the embossed panel using some more white card stock, which I cut down to 5 1/2 by 3 3/4 inches and run through my die cutting machine using the Darice chevron embossing folder. The side strip is a a 1/2 inch wide piece of patterned paper from the MFT 6×6 Sweet Celebration paper pad.
For my focal point I stamped one of the bears from the MFT Beary Special Birthday stamp set with Memento ink in tuxedo black and colored the image using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I used OR1 and GB5 for the box and TB1 and TB2 for the ribbon. For the head and paws of the bear I chose some cool greys, IG1 and IG2, for the muzzle I used EB1, EB2 and TN2, and for the nose and ears I used FS2, FS6 and a bit of PP1. I die-cut a circle around my image using the Tonic Studios stackable circle dies and used my paper trimmer to cut away part of the circle.
For my banner, because I didn’t have any matching paper, I colored a piece of white card stock using the same TB2 blue marker that I used for the ribbon and I stamped my sentiment using again Memento ink. Using my scissors I cut the tails of the banner. I glued everything in place using white glue, except for the sentiment, which I mounted on some foam tape.

CARD DI COMPLEANNO CON TIMBRI MY FAVORITE THINGS
Ciao a tutti! Il progetto di oggi è ispirato alla challenge del MFT* Challenge and Inspiration blog di questa settimana. Ho optato per un design semplice e lineare, cercando di utilizzare delle tonalità tenui (purtroppo la foto non rende molto), e sono piuttosto felice del risultato. E poi era da tanto che volevo utilizzare il set di timbri Beary Special Birthday di MFT, perciò ho colto l’occasione e ho realizzato questa card.
La base è in cartoncino bianco, in formato A6. Ho ricavato il pannello frontale da dell’ulteriore cartoncino bianco, che ho tagliato ad una dimensione di 14×9.5 cm. L’effetto in rilievo si ottiene utilizzando la fustellatrice e una cartella per l’embossing a freddo (in questo caso la “Chevron” di Darice). Per la strisciolina laterale ho preso della carta decorata dal set Sweet Celebrations di MFT.
Il soggetto della card è uno degli orsetti del set Beary Special Birthday, sempre di MFT, che ho timbrato usando il tampone Memento in tuxedo black e colorato con i miei pennarelli Spectrum Noir. Ho scelto i seguenti colori: per la scatola e per il nastro OR1, GB5, TB1 e TB2, per la testa e le zampe dell’orsetto IG1 e IG2, per il muso EB1, EB2 e TN2, e per il nasino e l’interno dell’orecchio FS2, FS6 e PP1. Ho ritagliato un cerchio intorno all’immagine con una fustella circolare di Tonic Studios, e ho tagliato via una porzione del cerchio utilizzando la mia taglierina a ghigliottina.
Per il banner con il messaggio ho colorato del cartoncino bianco usando lo stesso colore della scatola regalo (TB2). Ho poi timbrato la parola “Surprise!” utilizzando ancora il tampone Memento in tuxedo black, e ho ritagliato il cartoncino della forma e delle dimensioni desiderate. Ho incollato tutti gli elementi alla base con della colla vinilica, eccezion fatta per il banner, per il quale ho preferito utilizzare del nastro biadesivo in schiuma.
E questo è tutto. Un progetto semplice ma che mi piace parecchio. Gli orsetti in questo set di timbri sono tenerissimi, e sono contenta del risultato che ho ottenuto.
