A cute card with MFT stamps and some exciting stuff :)

So let’s have a look at how I made this really cute card using the Adorable Elephants stamp set and the Hello There Die-Namics, both from My Favorite Things. First of all I stamped one of the elephants from the set on some Ranger watercolor cardstock with archival ink in jet black, also from Ranger. I created a mask for my image using some Post-it tape and I positioned it over the stamped elephant. I then went ahead and painted my background using Distress Inks in Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon and a large brush. At this point I removed the mask and colored in my image using Zig Clean Real Color Brush Markers. I also stamped the butterfly on separate piece of card stock, colored it and cut it with my scissors. For the card base I took some yellow card stock that I trimmed down to 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ , and some white heavyweight cardstock which I cut to be a bit smaller than the base. Using a circular die I cut out a circle from the white panel, where I wanted the image to go, and backed the panel with some foam tape. With the same die I cut a circle around the elephant, and assembled my card front. I also glued the butterfly on the elephant’s ear. For the sentiment I used the words Hi and There from the Hello There Die-Namics, which I die cut from the same yellow cardstock that I used for the base, and from some more yellow cardstock in a lighter shade. Using some white glue I adhered the two layers to each other and to the base, offsetting them a bit so that I would create shadow effect for my sentiment. And as a final touch I used some yellow sequin and added some sparkle to the butterfly with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen. I really find this little elephant super adorable, and I think that this card would work great to announce the arrival of a new baby! Wouldn’t it be super cute?

UN BIGLIETTO TENERO E UNA BELLA NOTIZIA 🙂

Ciao a tutti! Oggi torno a scrivere sul blog – prima del previsto – con una nuova card e una bella notizia! Il progetto di oggi infatti è stato pubblicato sul challenge blog di My Favorite Things nell’edizione settimanale di “You’ve been spotted”! Non sto a dirvi la felicità quando mi sono svegliata stamattina e l’ho scoperto! E ovviamente non potevo non condividere le novità con tutti voi! Andiamo perciò a dare un’occhiata a come ho realizzato questa card usando il set di timbri Adorable Elephants e le fustelle Hello There, entrambi di My Favorite Things. Per cominciare ho stampato uno degli elefanti del set su del cartoncino da acquarelli di Ranger con il tampone Archival ink in jet black, anch’esso di Ranger. Ho poi creato una maschera usando del nastro Post it, che ho accuratamente posizionato sopra l’elefantino. Con un pennello piuttosto grande e con i Distress Ink nei colori Cracked Pistachio e Mermaid Lagoon ho realizzato lo sfondo. Ho poi rimosso la maschera dalle elefantino, e l’ho colorato usando i miei Zig Clean Real Color Brush Markers. Su un altro pezzo di cartoncino ho stampato la farfallina, l’ho colorata e ritagliata con le forbici. Per la base della mia card ho utilizzato del cartoncino giallo tagliato alla misura di 5 1/2″ per 4 1/4″, e del cartoncino bianco che ho ritagliato ad una misura leggermente più piccola rispetto a quella della base. Usando una fustella ho tagliato via un cerchio dal pannello bianco, e ne ho ricoperto il retro con del nastro biadesivo in schiuma. Con la stessa fustella ho tagliato un cerchio intorno all’elefantino. Ho quindi assemblato la card. Per il messaggio sul mio biglietto ho usato le parole “Hi” e “There” del set di fustelle Hello There di My Favorite Things, che ho ricavato da dei fogli di cartoncino giallo: uno della tonalità stessa tonalità della base, e l’altro leggermente più chiaro. Li ho poi incollati al bigliettino lasciandoli leggermente disallineati, modo da ottenere un effetto tipo ombra. Come tocco finale ho aggiunto delle paillettes e del glitter alla farfallina utilizzando una Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen. Trovo che questo elefantino sia davvero adorabile, e penso che questo bigliettino possa essere un’idea carina per annunciare l’arrivo di un bimbo o di una bimba. Non sarebbe tenerissimo?
