Hello everyone! Today’s post is really special because I am a Guest Star Stamper for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge! How exciting! I was so happy and honored to be chosen by the very talented people over at the CTD blog – a truly wonderful surprise! For my card I decided to create a scene using the Ewe Are The Best stamp set by My Favorite Things and my my Gansai Tambi watercolors. They are really a great medium, and by mixing them you can really expand your color palette…So fun!
I created the sky by laying down a very light wash of aqua color on some Canson watercolor cardstock cut to 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″. To create clouds on my background I lightly tapped away some color with a clean cloth in the areas where I wanted the clouds to be. I was experimenting with this technique, and I really like the soft result!
For the hills I layed down a wash of green on a separate piece of Canson watercolor cardstock and I cut it using dies from the stitched landscape trio from Mama Elephant. I placed the die so that I wouldn’t end up having the stitching on the hills: I wanted to keep the look very simple, so that it would match the soft feel of the sky.
I then stamped the images on some more Canson watercolor cardstock using Ranger Archival Ink in jet black, and painted them in with my Gansai Tambi. I cut them out using the coordinating dies.
I assembled my background panel and trimmed it down a little bit so that I could frame the card with some yellow cardstock. I then adhered all the elements in place.
The sentiment also comes from the MFT Ewe are the best stamp set. I created the banner by trimming some white and yellow cardstock with my paper trimmer and glued it down onto the card front. I wanted to give the impression that the little sheep is looking at the sentiment…I thought this would add a sweet and slightly nostalgic touch to the card. 🙂

CARD COME GUEST STAR STAMPER PER LA COLOR THROWDOWN CHALLENGE #437
Ciao a tutti! Il post di oggi è davvero speciale, perché sono Guest Star Stamper per la Color Throwdown Challenge di questa settimana! Che bello! Sono troppo felice e davvero onorata di essere stata invitata dalle bravissime ragazze del The Color Throwdown Challenge blog– è stata una sorpresa bellissima! Andatele a visitare per vedere tante altre meravigliose creazioni, e partecipate anche voi!
Per la mia card ho deciso di creare una scena utilizzando i timbri del set Ewe Are The Best di My Favorite Things e i miei acquarelli Gansai Tambi. Sono un medium fantastico, e mescolando i colori tra di loro potete davvero espandere la vostra palette!
Ho creato il cielo stendendo uno strato molto leggero di colore acqua su un foglio di carta da acquerelli Canson, tagliato alla misura di 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Per creare l’effetto delle nuvole ho rimosso parte del colore dallo sfondo picchiettando qua è là con un pezzo di stoffa bianca. Ho sperimentato un po’ con questa tecnica e devo dire che mi piace molto l’effetto che ho ottenuto!
Per realizzare le colline ho steso del colore verde su un altro foglio di carta da acquarelli, che ho ritagliato utilizzando le fustelle del set Stitched Landscape Trio Dies di Mama Elephant. Ho posizionato le fustelle in modo che la parte con le cuciture fosse rivolta verso l’esterno, così da non essere inclusa nelle colline. Ho preferito mantenere il design semplice, perché ho ritenuto che in questo modo si sarebbe sposato meglio con il look soft del cielo.
Ho poi timbrato tutte le immagini su un altro foglio di carta da acquarelli Canson e le ho dipinte usando i miei Gansai Tambi. Per finire le ho ritagliate utilizzando le fustelle in coordinato.
Ho assemblato lo sfondo e l’ho ridotto leggermente utilizzando il mio tagliacarte a ghigliottina, in modo da poter creare una cornice con del cartoncino giallo.
Ho poi incollato i vari elementi al pannello frontale.
Il messaggio proviene dallo stesso set di timbri Ewe are the best. Ho creato il banner ritagliando del cartoncino bianco e giallo con il mio tagliacarte. L’ho poi incollato alla card cercando di dare l’impressione che la pecora stesse guardando nella direzione del banner stesso…ho pensato che questo dettaglio conferisse un tocco dolce e leggermente nostalgico alla card. 🙂
