Funny card with Tiddly Inks free digital stamp

Good morning everyone! I am back today with another post for the challenge at the Daniela Peuss blog. The goal for this edition was to make a punny card. I had already someyhing in mind, but then I saw this stamp from Tiddly Inks, and it was just perfect! Sooo funny! And you know what the best part is? It’s free! Kinda cool, isn’t it? I just opened up to the world of digital stamps, and I think that there are so many things you can do with them! Plus, they can be quite cost effective! Of course it is important, when we download and use digital material, to make sure that we are doing it from the legit source – we should support the intellectual owners of the art pieces we want to use in our crafts!

And now let’s get to the card. You can find the digital image, including the sentiment, on the Tiddly Ink website. They have a number of freebies, but honestly their stamps are so pretty that I ended up also buying a couple! And I will definitely do it again! 🙂

I went to a local print shop and had it printed on my own paper, so I could be sure it would work with my markers. Laser printers usually work with both water- and alcohol-based media, so you have the choice to use both.

I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut it with my craft knife. I decided to ground the frog using a strip of patterned paper from the Doodlebug Spring Things 6×6″ paper pad. I used the same paper to frame the sentiment banner and tie everything together. I then popped up the frog and the sentiment using foam tape. As a final embellishment I added some iridescent sequin and framed the card front with some green cardstock. 

And…done! Again a quick card with a clean design, but I find it really fun! What can I say, I am easily amused 😛

CARD SPIRITOSA CON IMMAGINE DIGITALE GRATUITA DI TIDDLY INKS

Buongiorno a tutti! Oggi torno con un altro post per la challenge sul sito di Daniela Peuss. La sfida per questa edizione era di realizzare una card spiritosa. Avevo già qualcosa in mente, ma poi ho trovato questa immagine sul sito di Tiddly Inks, che è semplicemente perfetta per il tema della challenge! Troppo simpatica! E in più è gratis! Come dire di no? 😉 

Mi sono appena affacciata al mondo dei digi-stamps (ossia immagini digitali pensate apposta per il cardmaking), e trovo che siano davvero versatili! E sono anche piuttosto convenienti dal punto di vista economico! Naturalmente è fondamentale, quando si scarica e utilizza del materiale digitale, assicurarsi che lo stiamo facendo dalla fonte legittima – è importante sostenere i proprietari intellettuali delle opere che vogliamo usare per i nostri progetti!

Detto questo, veniamo alla card di oggi. Potete trovare sia la rana che il messaggio sul sito di Tiddly Inks.  C’è una serie di immagini gratuite da scaricare, ma io ho finito per comprarne anche qualcuna – sono davvero adorabili! E già ne ho adocchiate alte per i miei acquisti futuri! 

Per stampare l’immagine mi sono rivolta ad una copisteria. Ho portato il cartoncino da casa in modo da avere la certezza che fosse adatto per il tipo di medium che avevo scelto per colorare l’immagine. Le copisteria professionali di solito hanno stampanti laser, che sono compatibili sia con colori a base d’acqua che a base alcolica, perciò siete liberi di scegliere ciò che preferite.

Ho colorato l’immagine con i miei pennarelli Spectrum Noir e l’ho ritagliata con un taglierino. Per creare una base per la rana ho utilizzato una striscia di carta decorata dal blocco 6×6″ Spring Things di Doodlebug. Ho usato la stessa carta per incorniciare il banner con il messaggio e creare continuità tra i vari elementi. Ho poi incollato la rana e il banner con del nastro biadesivo in schiuma. Come tocco finale ho aggiunto delle paillettes iridescenti e incorniciato il pannello frontale della card con del cartoncino verde. 

E questo è tutto! Anche in questo caso una card veloce con un design semplice, che però trovo davvero simpatica! Cosa posso dire, mi diverto con poco! 😛
