Hello everyone! I hope you all had a nice Easter, I certainly did! 🙂
I am back today with a card I made for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge as well as the challenge at the Dani Peuss website using my Prismacolor colored pencils and some Create a Smile stamps.
I choose to use some toned gray paper by Strathmore and see how it would work with my Prismacolor pencils, and I think it looks really nice! I will definitely be making more projects like this one!
For my images I used stamps from the Krokisses set by Create a Smile Stamps, and for the sentiment I used the Just Because set, also by Create a Smile Stamps. I really like this set, because it has lots of gorgeous scripty sentiments good for a wide range of occasions.
To make my card I started off by stamping the images on some Strathmore toned gray paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them with my Prismacolor pencils using the palette for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge. I added some dots with my white gel pen for some extra detail and cut out the images with my scissors.
I then created my base from the same gray paper, and glued the images and the frame in place with some liquid glue. To cut the card base and the white frame I used dies from the Mixed Rectangle Layering set by Tonic Studios. The card is smaller than a standard A2 card – it measures about 3 3/4″ by 4 3/4″- but I liked the proportions and decided to leave it as is.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coated it with my Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen, and added some more white dots on the card base.
And that’s my card for today’s post! I really enjoyed coloring those flowers with my colored pencils, you really get a lot of control with this coloring medium!

MATITE COLORATE PRISMACOLOR SU CARTONCINO GRIGIO CON STAMPI CREATE A SMILE
Ciao a tutti! Spero che abbiate passato una buona Pasqua, la mia è stata davvero piacevole!
Oggi torno sul blog con una card che ho realizzato per la Color Throwdown Challenge di questa settimana, e per la challenge su www.danipeuss.de, e per la quale ho utilizzato matite colorate Prismacolor e timbri di Create a Smile. Volevo provare ad utilizzare le matite Prismacolor su della carta grigia per testarne l’effetto, e devo dire che mi piace molto! Ripeterò senza dubbio l’esperimento in futuro!
Per le immagini ho utilizzato timbri del set Krokisses di Create a Smile Stamps, e il messaggio appartiene al set Just Because, anch’esso di Create a Smile Stamps. Quest’ultimo mi piace molto, perché è dotato di bellissimi messaggi, adatti a diverse occasioni.
Per realizzare la card ho stampato le immagini su della carta da disegno grigia di Strathmore con l’inchiostro Memento in Tuxedo Black, e le ho colorate con le matite colorate Prismacolor, seguendo la palette per la Color Throwdown Challenge di questa settimana. Ho aggiunto dei dettagli con una penna gel bianca e le ho ritagliate. Ho creato la base della card utilizzando la stessa carta grigia e vi ho incollato i vari elementi con della colla vinilica. Per la base e la cornice ho usato fustelle dal set Mixed Rectangles Layering di Tonic Studios. La card è più piccola del formato standard A2 (misura 3 3/4″ per 4 3/4″), ma mi piacevano le proporzioni e l’ho lasciata così.
Per finire ho stampato il messaggio con l’inchiostro Memento in Tuxedo Black, l’ho ricoperto con la mia clear glitter pen di Spectrum Noir, e ho aggiunto qualche dettaglio qua e là con una penna gel bianca.
E questo è tutto! Mi è davvero piaciuto utilizzare le matite Prismacolor per colorare i fiori, si ha davvero molto controllo con questo medium!
