Howdy crafters! I am back on the blog to show you one more project I made using the Wild West set, part of the Craftin Desert Divas June release, and now available for purchase in the Craftin Desert Divas store.
Scene cards are really fun to make, and together with interactive cards they are my favorite kind of projects. And the images on this set a really perfect to create super fun scenes! So let’s have a look at how I created this fun card.
For my hillsides I cut some Bristol smooth cardstock and I inked it with Distress Ink in Rusty Hinges. The new CDD Southwest Border dies would actually be perfect to create this scene, but because at that time I didn’t have them, I cut my own hills simply using my scissors. For the sky I used another piece of Bristol smooth cardstock, which I inked with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass. To create a fun and interesting look on my background I spritzed everything with water and I blotted it dry with a paper towel. I cut all the elements using the Crazy Stitched Rectangle frames to add a fun stitched detail all around my scene, and I glued everything to my A2 card base. I then colored all the images I had chosen to build my scene: the sweet little fox, the horse, the cow, the saloon and the cacti, using my Spectrum Noir. I played with the arrangement of the different elements until I found something that I thought looked appealing, and at that point I glued everything in place using some liquid glue. I created a fishtail banner for my sentiment, I adhered it to my scene, and mounted everything on a standard A2 sized card base.
And that’s it for this project! I really hope you liked my card, and if you are looking for more inspiration on how to use this set, you can check out this blog post in which I share a super fun shaker with a entirely different feel! Stay tuned for more fun projects this weekend, and in the meantime I wish you all a fantastic day! Ciaooo!
