Hello everyone! Today I am back with a card inspired by the color scheme of the current Mood Board Challenge over at the Craftin Desert Divas Gallery Facebook group.
For this card I decided to use the Aloha stamp set, which was one of the two August release specials, and is now available for purchase on the Craftin Desert Divas store. How sweet is that little troll dancing in her grass skirt? I love it!
To start off this card I stamped all my images on some Windsor and Newton Cotman drawing paper, I cut them out using my Silhouette Portrait and I colored them using Prismacolor Premier colored pencils.
I then took some heavyweight white cardstock and did some ink blending with Distress Oxides: I used Spiced Marmelade, Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick for a sunset kind of feel. I then used one of the dies from the Stitched In Circles set to cut a circle out of my ink blended cardstock. I used Perfect Pearls in Perfect Bronze to add some shine to my sunset background, and my mini mister to set the Perfect Pearls pigment.
For the front panel I cut another piece of the same white cardstock using the largest of the Crazy Stitched Rectangle dies, and I created a window using the same circle die from the Stitched In Circles that I had previously used. I coated the back of the frame with some acetate by Crafters Companion.
My card base is made out of white cardstock that I cut at a standard A2 size. To add some contrasting color to the ones I have on my girl and background, I blended some Distress Oxide in Peacock Feathers on the edges of my card base. And I think that this added a lot more interest on the card!
Once I had everything ready I could start assembling all my elements. First, I glued the circular panel to my card base. I then backed the window front with some 3M foam tape, and I adhered it in place. I also used foam tape to glue the little troll to the front of my window. Using some Ranger Multi Medium Matte I adhered the flowers and some sequin from the Mermaid Lagoon sequin mix. The sentiment also comes from the Aloha set: I stamped it on some Windsor and Newton Cotman Drawing paper, I created a banner using my Guillotine Trimmer and my Cutterbee scissors, and I did some ink blending using the same colors of Distress Oxides that I used for the background.
And here is a picture showing showing the nice shimmer that the Perfect Pearls created on the background!

And that’s it for today’s post! I hope you liked this card, and I hope I inspired you to join the Craftin Desert Divas Mood Board Challenge! Stay tuned for another card and a video tutorial tomorrow, and in the meantime I wish you all a great day!
