Hello everyone! Today I am back with a card I made using some adorable stamps by C.C. Designs, as well as the fourth video in my Holiday 2017 Card Making series on YouTube. I also made a tag which coordinates with this card, you can see it and watch the video tutorial at this link. I think having matching cards and tags for your Christmas presents is a great idea, and a way to make your gifts even more unique! Consider yourselves warned, though: this is definitely not a project aimed towards mass production, it is rather something for one of those special people in your life. 🙂
But let’s move on to the card and tag making process. To begin with, I printed the images from the Roberto’s Rascals Snowmen Kids set on some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock with my Canon Pixma printer. These images are also available as rubber stamps, but I decided to work with the digital version, because I was really eager to start creating with these cute images! I also printed the images on some repositionable packaging labels, so that I would be able to create masks later on.
For this project I decided to combine Prismacolor pencils and Distress Oxides: they look perfect together, especially when used on kraft cardstock!
After having printed my little scene, I trimmed down the card panel to 4.25” by 5.25”, and I did some coloring with my Prismacolor pencils. I then masked the images and moved on to the background. For the sky I used Distress Oxides in Faded Jeans and Black Soot, and for the hill and the snow I used Yeti white pigment ink by Lawn Fawn. I used two stencils by My Favorite Things: the Drifts and Hills stencil, and the Snowfall stencil. I created an additional mask for the hill by tracing the stencil on my masking paper and cut the shape with my scissors.
For the sentiment on my card I used Distress Oxide in Faded Jeans and the Clearly Besotted Stamps Tiny Type stamp set.
I then adhered two strips of Neenah Desert Storm on the sides of the card because I wanted some of the kraft cardstock to show. I also cut another tag, also from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, and adhered it to the back of the one I had colored.
If you want a deeper insight in the card making process, I created a video for you guys, that you can watch on my YouTube channel! And don’t forget to let me know what you think about it!
And that’s it for today! I really hope you liked the card and enjoyed the video! If so you might want to check out how I made the coordinating tag by clicking on this link!
