Hello everyone! Today I am back with an elegant Christmas card and a set of coordinating tags I made with products by Studio Katia. I really love using kraft cardstock for Christmas cards, and the white embossed vellum adds and ever more classy look to this card! I have to say I am really pleased with the result!
I first heat embossed some of the images in the Studio Katia Merry Poinsettia stamp set on some Canson XL watercolor cardstock as well as on vellum. I then die cut everything with the coordinating dies.
For my card base I used two of the dies in the Studio Katia Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames set to cut some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. To convey the feel of falling snow, I added some splashes to the background using white acrylic paint. I then heat embossed the sentiment on the front panel and popped it up on some fun foam. For a finishing touch I used some white crystals by Studio Katia around the sentiment.
And because I liked this card so much, I decided to create some coordinating tags. They are quick and easy to make, but I think they are the perfect complement to the card!
I die cut the tags out of some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and I added some splashes with white acrylic paint. I heat embossed two flowers from the Merry Poinsettia stamp set on some vellum and glued one on each tag. I die cut the word “joy” using one of the coordinating dies to the Merry Poinsettias stamp set. For the dot on the letter “j” I used the same white crystals I added on the card. And to add a touch of red to the tags as well, I threaded some red embroidery floss through the tags’ eyelets.
With this card I participate the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.
