Hi everyone! Today I am back with a card and a video showing how to make a quick and simple Valentine’s day card using one main image as focal point. For this card I chose the Love Chicks set by Stamping Bella: besides the fact that it is super adorable, it immediately sets the scene on its own, and it allows ot create a very cute card in little time. The patterned paper and the decorative borders provide those extra touches that give a finished look to the card.
To start off this card I stamped my image on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then colored it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
I trimmed down the panel to 5.5” by 2.5” and I added stitching on the long sides using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders. I then cut two 1.5” strips from two different designs in the Doodlebug 6×6” Hello Sunshine paper pad (four in total). I created a scalloped edge to two of them using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders. For the other two I used the Lawn Fawn Valentine Borders to add some arrows along the outer edges. I adhered everything flat to my card base.
To finish off the card I added shimmer to the love letters, some white gel pen detail to all the images, and a bit of dimension to the heart and the chicks’ beaks using Nuvo Drops in morning dew.
And that’s it for today’s video! I really hope you guys enjoyed it and you like today’s card. I will be back soon with another fun project, and in the meantime I wish you all a great day!
