Hi everyone! Today I am back with a card I made combining My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #380 and the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge Add Some Texture. I did the same for this card last week and it was a lot of fun, so I decided to do it again 🙂
I opted for Nuvo Mousses to add texture to my card, and used them with the My Favorite Things Abstract Stencil as it made me think of dragon scales.
I first inked some watercolor cardstock with Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemonade and Lucky Clover, adding water so that the colors would mix. I then used a spatula to apply my Nuvo Mousse in Citrus Green over the stencil.
While the Nuvo Mousse was drying I started working on my images. I stamped the knight and one of the dragons in the My Favorite Things Magical Dragons set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on some Neeneah Solar White 110lb cardstock and colored them with Spectrum Noir and Copic markers. I used shades of orange to achieve a nice contrast with my background so that the images would stand out. I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.
Once the Nuvo Moussed had dried I die cut a circular panel using the Tonic Studios Layering Circles. I also cut some white cardstock with the Avery Elle Wonky Stiches dies and some watercolor cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables dies. I did some ink blending on the latter using Distress Oxide in Peacock Feathers and mounted everything on a white A2 card base.
I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on a strip of black cardstock, and I used craft foam to adhere that, as well as my images, on the card base. And look at the beautiful shimmer from the Nuvo Mousse 😍
