Create a Beach Scene with Patterned Paper feat Heffy Doodle Stamps

Hi everyone! I am back today with another card I made for the Heffy Doodle Summer Loving challenge…I know, another one…but what can I do? This challenge is so fun! And I will tell you from now…I have another card ready to be shared with you later this week, which will also include a video tutorial! But for now let’s focus on today’s card!

This is a very quick one to make…a bit of coloring, some die cutting, and there you have it! And because of the sentiment this card is good for a variety of occasions too!
As a first step I stamped all my images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on some Neenah Solar White 100lb cardstock and colored them with my Spectrum Noir Markers. The cool croc and the sentiment come from the Heffy Doodle Happy Snappy Crocs stamp set, the sun glasses are part of the Create a Smile Stamps Dress Me Up stamp set, and the rest of the images are included in the Lawn Fawn Life is Good stamp set.
These were a lot of fun to color and I especially like the sun-burnt look I gave to the croc by adding some light pink-ish red to his cheek, belly, tail and muzzle. I hope you can tell from the picture. πŸ™‚
I also added some Glossy Accents to the red part of the flip flops and the sun glasses.

I then used the Heffy Doodle Clover Frame Dies to cut all the elements. for my background.
The plaid patterned paper comes from the Lawn Fawn 6×6″ Perfectly Plaid paper pack, and for the sand and the sky I used two of the papers in the Lawn Fawn 6×6″Watercolor Wishes collection.
I then sponged the edges of the sky panel with Distress Oxide in Broken China, and those of the sand with Distress Oxide in Vintage Photo to make my scene stand out against the somewhat busy background.

I glued all the elements together and raised the front panel with some foam tape to accent it even more. For the sentiment, also part of the Heffy Doodle Happy Snappy Crocs set, I used the Lawn Fawn Speech Bubbles dies and Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and Love Letters.

And that’s my card for today. I have to say that I really love how this one turned out, it really makes me smile! And I hope it makes you smile too!
If you want to know more about the #heffydoodlechallenge  you can read this post on the Heffy Doodle blog.
I will be back soon with another fun project, and, in the meantime, I wish you all a great day!
