Hi everyone! Today I am back to show you a fun shaker card I created for the C.C. Designs blog sing the adorable Roberto’s Rascals Splashies set and the Diamond Metal Dies.
As a first step I stamped the images on Neenah Solar White cardstock, colored them with Spectrum Noir and Copic markers, and fussy cut them out.
I then started working on my shaker front, for which I used Distress Inks and the Ink Smooshing Technique. I used Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass, and, once the inks were dry, I used the largest die in the Diamond Metal Dies set to cut the window of my shaker. The die cut piece will be the shaker background, so that the ink-smooshed pattern I created will be continuous throughout the shaker.
I then assembled the shaker itself. I adhered the little guy and the fish inside the shaker window, raising them on some foam tape. I glued the little girl on the shaker front, trying to make it look as if the ink I smooshed on the background was water that she is splashing.
I matted my card front on some red cardstock cut at 4.25×5.5”, and, for some finishing touches, I added Nuvo Jewel Drops in Sea Breeze all over the card front and coated the floatie with Glossy Accents.
