Hi everyone! Today I am back with a card and a video I created as a guest designer for Gerda Steiner Designs – I really love their cute stamps and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to create with the On the Bookshelf stamp set! I love kitties and I love books, so this set was just perfect!
As I first step I started working on my background. I die cut some Windsor and Newton Cotman watercolor cardstock to an A2 size, and then I used a brick wall stencil and some Matte Texture Paste by Ranger to create the background. I added color to the paste using Distress Oxide in Iced Spruce and then used a spatula to distribute it over the background.
I then put it aside to dry and started working on my images.
I stamped quite a few of them on Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I show part of the coloring in the video that you can watch further down in this post, but I also created a color chart for your reference.
I created the floor using some woodgrain patterned paper, and assembled my cute little scene. Because I have a lot going on on this card and I wanted these adorable kittens to stand out, I popped them up with some foam tape. And when you look at the card these are the first elements your eye is drawn to!
I mounted my scene on a top folding A2 card base and decorated the inside of the card with a sentiment and the third cat image on the set, which is absolutely adorable!

Your card is so adorable! I love how you decorated the inside, too π This looks like an awesome stamp set.
