Hi everyone! Today I am back with an easy all occasion card created following the inspiration from the current Mix it Up challenge on the SugarPea Designs Blog. You can enter your projects featuring SugarPea Designs products for a chance to win 50$ to spend on the SugarPea Designs store!
Here is this month’s Mix it Up challenge – you can follow the inspiration picture, the sketch, or you can mix them. It’s up to you!
For my card I was inspired by the color scheme of the inspiration picture and by the sketch too.
I started by die cutting some Ranger Watercolor Cardstock with the scalloped rectangle die in the Card Front Element Builder. I used Distress Ink in Pumice Stone and a flat watercolor brush number 14 to create some horizontal stripes.
I then stamped some of the images in the Llama Just Say stamp set with Scrapbook.com Premium Hybrid Ink on some more watercolor cardstock by Ranger and did some watercoloring with Distress Inks. In order to reproduce the color palette of the inspiration picture I used Weathered Wood, Stormy Sky and Pumice Stone. For the face of this cute little Llama I used Tattered Rose, and for the inner part of the ear I mixed Tattered Rose with a tiny bit of Worn Lipstck.
Once I was done painting the images I die cut them with the coordinating dies. For the card base I cut out an A2 size panel out of Ranger watercolor cardstock. I wanted to create a rustic look on this panel, to follow the mood of the inspiration picture, so I decided to do as follows: I took my Distress Ink in Weathered Wood and swped it directly onto the panel. I used a light hand and always moved the ink pad from the edges of the panel towards the inside. I left some streak marks to enhance the rustic feel of the card.
