Altenew April 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Paper Pack Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi everyone! Today I am back with two cards and a video to celebrate the new  Altenew Stamp/Die/Stencil/Paper Pack Release! This post is part of a blog hop with giveaways – more on that at the end of this post!
For the first card I used the Delicate Flower Bed stamp set and the Fancy Hello die, both part of the new release. The stamp set is gorgeous and allows to create stunning backgrounds for your cards, and I am in love with the style of the die. Clean and elegant!

For this card I did some watercoloring over heat embossing with Distress Inks. I started by embossing the design on the Altenew Delicate Flower Bed stamp set with clear embossing powder over some Canson XL watercolor cardstock.

I then painted in the flowers and the leaves with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac, Dried Marigold and Cracked Pistachio. For the background I added a light wash of Peacock Feathers.

I matted my painted panel with some black and pink cardstock to frame it a bit.

I die cut the word hello three times out of some black cardstock and stacked the die cuts together, to create a dimensional sentiment. I embossed one of the sentiment from the Delicate Flower Bed with white embossing powder over a strip of black cardstock and glued everything to my card front.

I added some Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew around the sentiment, and that finished off my card

For my second card I used the Weekend Doodles stamp set. This set is also part of the new release and I absolutely love the style of these florals! They are really fun and I can’t wait to create more with this set!

For this card I did some coloring with Prismacolor Pencils on Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. I stamped the image and the sentiment with black ink (the sentiment is part of the new Altenew Bundle of Joy stamp set) and then I went ahead and colored everything.

I trimmed down the kraft cardsock panel to 4 by 5 1/4″ and used a white gel pen to draw a stitched detail all around. I masked the floral image and the sentiment, before adding some splatters with white acrylic paint.

I then decided to take the leap and coat the entire image with Glossy Accents. The doodle-like style of the image really inspired me to experiment this way, and I have to say that I really like the result! I tried to capture it on camera, but in real life it looks even better!

I left the glossy accents to completely dry and then added some highlights with a white gel pen.

I mounted everything on an A2 card base and that finished off my second card.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I have a video tutorial for you, showing how I created the first card. You can watch it down below or directly on my YouTube channel!

And now it’s time to talk about giveaways!

Lovely cards – I love the glossy detail on the second card, and the soft, flowing blue background on the first. Beautiful colour choices on that first card too.

Thank you for the video showing the watercolored card. I also loved the doodle flower on kraft cardstock. The added glossy accents was a nice touch on the flower and leaves. TFS.
