Altenew May 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Ink/Enamel Pin Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi everyone! Today I am back with two cards and a video to celebrate the new Altenew release! This release is full of wonderful products, including inks and enamel pins too! All the new items are now available for purchase on the Altenew store!

For my first card today I used the larger floral in the new Everlasting Happiness stamp set. I stamped it with premium hybrid black ink on Canson XL watercolor cardstock and painted it with my Altenew Watercolors.

I added some details with some Prismacolor pencils, and used the Turquoise and the Desert Night markers in the Altenew Topical Fiesta set to paint the background and add splatters to it. The whole process is described in the video at the end of this post, so make sure to check it out, if you are interested.

I created a wood grain panel by stamping the image in the A Walk in the Woods stamp set on some more watercolor card. I layered the background with my focal panel, some black card and some more watercolor card.

For some finishing touches I used a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay pen in the center of the flowers and created some highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen.
I added Nuvo Drops in Sea Breeze around the sentiment and in Limoncello on the centers of the large flowers, and that finished off my first card!
For my second card I used the Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die to ad some detail to a panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock. This die is so gorgeous, and as you can see in the card belo, you don’t need much more to create a stunning card!

Once I was done die cutting, I added color to the panel with Distress Oxides in Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet. I then used a wet paintbrush to lift some of the Oxides off the panel and bring out the die design.

I added some highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen and some white and golden droplets with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors. I heat embossed thes sentiment from the The Best Thing Stamp set with white embossing powder over black cardstock and glued it to the front of the card. I cut a banner around the smaller sentiment, and used my scissor to fussy cut the outline of the larger one.

I trimmed the panel and layered it with some strips of black cardstock to create some extra interest. I raised the central panel over one layer of foam tape and added some white gel pen lines to the purple sides of the card, just along the black strips.

I added some Nuvo Drops in Simply White around the sentiment and that finished off my card.

As I said already, I have a video for you, showing how to create my watercolor floral card with the Altenew Everlasting Happyness stamp set. You can watch it down below or directly on my YouTube channel!

Wonderful cards! I love watercolour techniques so thanks for the video. I am so impressed with the dotted debossed card. Wow, that purple is yummy looking & it looks like a lot of time was put into it, whereas, as you said, it didn't take a lot. Thanks!

The wreath stamped card is stunning. So softly colored. My favorite though is the last card. I am loving the background and you showed another way to take advantage of the beauty of it.

Oh, I so wanted to watch your video, because I absolutely love that card, but couldn't get the sound to work either here or on YouTube. Pinned it, though!

Both of your card are so beautiful! I love how you lifted some of the colour off and used the white gel pen on your second card to highlight the gorgeous design the Dotted Swirls Die creates and the purple/lavender colours you used are beautiful! I love the design of your second card and your watercoloring is amazing!

Hey there! Loved listening to you describe your card, what a beauty. The purple one is delicious – any chance of a video lesson of that one? Thank you.

I loved the use of the Dotted Swirls Cover Die on your second card. The purple colors were awesome. I liked that you lifted some of the colour off, accentuating the pattern from the die. An amazing card!! Margaret R
