Handmade Birthday Card for a Boy | Studio Katia 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop + Giveaways

Hi everyone and welcome to the Studio Katia 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop! This amazing company is now 3 years old, and we are celebrating with lots of inspiration and giveaways!
For my project today I used the Kobi Makes a Wish stamp set, the Birthday Balloons Duo Stencil and the It’s Your Birthday stamp set, together with some previously released dies. I created a masculine birthday card, which turned out really cute and would work great for a boy!

I started by creating the background using the Birthday Balloons Duo Stencil and Distress Inks. The cardstock is Bristol Smooth Cardstock by Strathmore, which allows for some very easy blending. The colors of Distress Inks I used are Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio.
Once I was done blending I brushed some Perfect Pearls in the color Perfect Pearl over the balloons, and die cut the background panel with the Scallop Hearts Cover dies.

The images I chose today are from the new Kobi Makes a Wish stamp set. I love this adorable character, and I am always thrilled when a new stamp set which features him comes out!
I stamped everything on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Scrapbook.com Premium Hybrid Black Ink and used Spectrum Noir ColorBlend Pencils for my coloring. I die cut the images with the coordinating dies and added some white gel pen detail.

For my sentiment I used the It’s Your Birthday stamp set, which I embossed with black embossing powder over my background. I added some Pastel Rainbow Confetti to the card, before gluing the panel on some black cardstock. The black panel was cut to the standard A2 size with the Studio Katia Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames dies.

I mounted everything on a top-folding A2 card base, and that finished off my card.

And now it’s time to talk about giveaways!

I love it when a new Kobi stamp is in the mix! This one is adorable. You used some of my favorites in your Distress color palette. This would be an amazing guy card…young or old! TFS.

Hi Laura!! Such a great card. I struggle A LOT with masculine cards and I'm really thinking with these supplies I could pull this off! Thank you so much for the great inspiration and such great direction. Have a wonderful day!

I really like your balloon colors. And what a great idea to put perfect pearls on the top! I'm glad you mentioned it, because I wouldn't have been able to tell from the pics. (As usual. Why is it so hard to photograph shine?) Thanks for sharing with us!
