Hi everyone! Today I am back with a post and a video sharing a really easy and cute birthday card for a girl! You can also switch up the color palette to create a card for a little boy as well!
Most of the products I used today are part of the ModaScrap Spring 2020 release, which I find really fabulous! I honestly love every single product and they all work really great together! You can check them all out on the ModaScrap store, but first let’s have a look at how I created today’s project!
CARD BACKGROUND
For the background of my card I used one of the designs in the ModaScrap Spring Flowers paper pack and I trimmed it to 4.25×5.5″. I then used the second largest die in the Dashing Rectangles set to cut two more panels for my card front. I chose the ModaScrap Pastel Pink and Woodstock White papers.
To create my own custom patterned paper, I stamped the images in the Postage Celebrate stamp set on the white paper panel. I used Memento Ink ink London Fog and stamped the images repeatedly and in a random fashion. This really helps create the look of “real” patterned paper.
I trimmed the lower portion of the panel so that it looks like a slanted banner and layered it on top of my pink polka dot paper (you can see what I mean exactly in the video, if this is not clear).
IMAGES AND FOCAL POINT
I then stamped the koala bear in the Postage Hugs stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Prismacolor pencils. I also used the Postage New Baby stamp set to create a pink ribbon for my sweet critter.
For the focal elements on my card I used the Postage Bits stamps and coordinating dies. For the Scalloped Circle I used ModaScrap Pastel Pink paper, this time with the solid side face up. I then layered it with a small white circle that I cut with the Dashing Circles dies.
For the tag, on the other hand, I used the same paper from the Spring Flowers collection that I used on the background of my card.
SENTIMENT AND FINAL TOUCHES
I created my sentiments using stamps in the Postage Celebrate stamp set and then glued everything to my card base. As a last step, I added some pink crystals around the focal area of my card front.
And that’s it for today! Don’t forget to check out the video tutorial to see how to create this cute birthday card, perfect for a girl! And if you haven’t already, make sure to subscribe for more inspiration!
