Scene Card with Patterned Paper | LDRS Creative Up the Rabbit Hole

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a spring themed birthday card featuring the LDRS Creative Up the Rabbit Hole and Bunny Band Pals stamp sets. The scene itself was created using patterned paper: this adds some interest to the background and makes the whole process much faster.
If you are interested, there is also a video at the end of this post, too!

background

I started by creating the background for my card. As a first step, I die cut some papers from the Farmers Market and Country Lane paper pads. I used the Scalloped Rectangle Frame dies and picked a light blue design for the sky and a green one for the grass. I then used the In the Grass dies to further cut the green paper and create two grassy borders.

I added some depth to the die cuts by blending Distress Oxides on their edges. I used Mowed Lawn on the grass and Broken China on the Sky.

I chose a lilac patterned paper from the Country Lane paper pad and die cut it with the With All My Heart Cover Die. This will be the background of my scene.

Lastly, I created the sun with the Here Comes the Sun die set and more papers from the Farmers Market paper pad.

I then moved on and started working on my images. I used the Up the Rabbit Hole and Bunny Pals stamp sets, stamped the images with Raven Black Hybrid Ink by LDRS Creative and colored them with Illustrator Markers. Here is a list of markers I used

Bunnies: IG6, IG4, IG3, IG2, IG1
Bunnies’ Ears: FS8, FS9
Carrots: OR2, OR1, BO1, AG1, AG3
Hay Stack: GB6, GB4, GB2
Fence: MB4, MB2, GY1
Hut: MB4, MB2, EB8, EB5, EB3, EB1

Once I was done coloring, I die cut the images with the coordinating dies.

sentiment and finishing touches

For my sentiment I used the Happy B-Day Dies and adhered it on the top portion of my panel. I added a bit of shine to the Sun with a Scrapbook.com Glitter Brush pen and that finished off my card!
