White Ink THREE Ways | Slimline Scene Card with LDRS Creative

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a slimline scene card and a video showing THREE ways to use white ink!

The card features several fun products by LDRS creative, let’s have a look at how to create it!

BAckground – TECHNIQUE #1

For my background I did some ink blending with LDRS Hybrid inks. I wanted to go for a slim line card, so I used the Slim Line Scallop dies to die cut some bristol smooth cardstock.
I blended Banana Cream Pie, Tangerine, Soft Kisses and Tickled Pink inks, creating a gradient on my sky.

I then used my first technique with white ink today: blending through a stencil. I used the with all my Heart stencil and Snowy White ink by LDRS Creative and created a subtle pattern on my sky.

IMAGES – TECHNIQUE #2

The images I used today are part of the Broadwalk Mice stamp set. I heat embossed them with white embossing powder and colored them with water based markers.

Instead of using watermark ink for my stamping, I used white ink. This does not make a whole lot of difference when stamping on white cardstock, but is a great trick when we are heat embossing on colored cardstock. The white ink will make sure that our stamped images look nice and crisp, even if the embossing powder has not stuck everywhere!

After my images were all colored, I cut them with the coordinating dies.

SENTIMENT AND FINISHING TOUCHES – TECHNIQUE #3

For my greeting I used the Love You Dies and the Anytime Stack stamps. I used the die to cut some white cardstock and I stamped the rest of the greeting on black cardstock using white ink. Snowy White ink has a nice coverage on colored cardstock, especially when the surface is a little porous and can absorb the ink. This allow us to layer the ink and to get a result as bright as the one you see on my pictures.

I added a little bit of shimmer to the clouds and the balloon using a glitter brush pen and that finished off my card.

Don’t forget to check out my video for in depth explaination of the three different techniques you can use with white ink! (Please note that, even if in the video I kept saying pigment ink, LDRS Creative Snowy White is a hybrid ink. Everything I say in the video is valid for either type of ink).

Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!
