Hi everyone! Today I am back with another fun card for my Scene Building series on the Heffy Doodle blog! This time I am mixing an matching different stamp sets, and I will show you how to use summer themed sets on a fall card! It’s always nice when we find more way to give some extra love to our craft supplies!
And without further ado, let’s have a look at how I created this card!
Images
I started by stamping and coloring my images. I used Blackout Ink and Illustrator alcohol markers and I used images from the sets Hay There [HD | SBC], Veggie Patch [HD | SBC], Hello Squeekheart [HD | SBC], and You Go, Gull [HD | SBC]! The latter was part of the July release – I modified it for my fall card by turning the seagulls into crows! I just used some dark cool grey markers and I think they look really fun!
So, there you go! Another way to use this awesome stamp set even now that summer comes to an end.
Once I was done coloring, I die cut the images with the coordinating dies.
Background
I then moved on and started working on my scene. I die cut some Bristol Smooth Cardstock by Strathmore with the Clover Frames Dies [HD | SBC] and I used my Distress Inks to add color. For the sky I used Seedless Preserves, Fired Brick and Wild Honey. I blended them on the top portion of the panel (the lower one will be hidden by my grassy hills) and then created some droplets for some added interest.
Next, I created some grassy hills with the Clover Frames and the Grassy Lass Border Dies [HD | SBC]. I used again Distress Inks, this time in Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint.
With the Forest Builder Dies [HD | SBC] I die cut some trees for my fall scene, and inked them up with Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.
Sentiment and Finishing Touches
I assembled my scene and then stamped one of the sentiments in the Bold Banner Sentiments [HD | SBC] set on some white cardstock. I used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and then cut the banner with the coordinating dies.
I finished off the card with some gold foil confetti and added some accents with a White Gelly Roll Pen and a Black Glaze Pen.
And that’s it for today! I really hope you liked this card and found this post useful!
Thank you all for stopping by and have a great day!
