Ink Blended Winter Rainbow (and a Puffy Unicorn)

Ink Blended Winter Rainbow (and a Puffy Unicorn)
Winte

We all love a good rainbow – they are bright, they are fun, they make us smile! And with winter being just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to create a “rainbow” perfect for the season!

I did it with the help of the Heffy Doodle Fluffy Puffy Unicorns ( SBC ) and the Scrapbook.com Rainbow Wishes Dies ( SBC ). I really love the way this card turned out, so let’s have a look at how to make it!

Background

For the background of my card I die cut some watercolor cardstock with the Heffy Doodle Imperial Stitched Rectangles Dies ( SBC ).
I then created an ombre effect with my Distress Oxides. I went for a cool, wintry color palette and used Blueprint Sketch ( SBC ), Tumbled Glass ( SBC ), Shaded Lilac ( SBC ) and Spun Sugar ( SBC ).

Next, I added some frosty glitter to the background with Nuvo Glimmer Paste in the color Moonstone ( SBC ) and the Scrapbook.com Little Rainbows Stencil ( SBC ).

Winter Rainbow

To create the die cut rainbow I used the Scrapbook.com Rainbow Wishes Die set ( SBC ). I die cut some watercolor cardstock and I did some ink blending using the same colors of Distress Oxides I used on the Sky. Finger Daubers ( SBC ) make it really easy to blend on die cuts like this one.

For some extra dimension, I raised the die cut rainbow using some Scrapbook.com 1/8″ Foam Strips ( SBC ).

The unicorn and the stamped clouds in this card are part of the Heffy Doodle Fluffy Puffy Unicorns ( SBC ) set. I colored the images with Illustrator Markers and I used the same color palette I have on my background.

Once I was done coloring, I used the Fluffy Puffy Unicorns Dies ( SBC ) to die cut my images.

Sentiment and Finishing Touches

The sentiment I used for this card also comes from the Heffy Doodle Fluffy Puffy Unicorns ( SBC ). I used the banner die in the Rainbow Wishes Die set ( SBC ), die cut some black cardstock and stamped the greeting using Gold Pigment Ink ( SBC ).

To complete the card I used one of the stickers in the Scrapbook.com Black & White Sticker Book with Gold Foil Accents ( SBC ) – such a fun way to add a shimmery accent to your projects!
