But let’s take a look at today’s card. I printed my image on some Windsor and Newton drawing paper, and I colored it in with my Prismacolor pencils. I really enjoyed coloring these little cuties and playing around trying to find a good color combination for all the elements in the image!
For my card base I used the largest die from the CDD Inside Scalloped Square set. The background was cut from some Canson XL watercolor cardstock, and the frame was cut from one of the papers in the Crafters Companion Astrobrights collection. To create some interest on my background and to guide the viewer’s eye towards my focal point I created some splatters using Distress Ink in Ground Espresso. Finally, fI used the sentiment that comes in the Hug in a Mug digital stamp set, also by Craftin Desert Divas. I printed it on the same drawing paper I used for my focal point, and I did some partial die cutting with the CDD Flag Banner Dies, to produce a stitching detail all around. I then framed it using some lilac cardstock to match the color scheme I chose for the image.
