Just Bee-Cause Card for the Friday Funday Challenge #202 feat Digital Stamps by Louby Loo

Hello everyone! Today I am back with a card I made for the weekly challenge hosted by the Jo’s Scrap Shack blog. The sponsor for the current challenge is Digital Delights by Louby Loo, and I got the chance to play with the sweet Pencil Bee digital stamp. If you want to join the challenge for your chance to win credit for the DDLL, you will find all the info at the end of this post!  But for now let’s have a look at how I created this card πŸ™‚

I printed my image on some Canson XL watercolor cardstock and used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color it in. I really enjoy using these markers, as they allow me to color in images really quickly, and by blending them out with water I get nice shadows and highlights with one marker only! Once I was done coloring my image, I fussy cut it using my Cutterbee scissors.
For the card design I followed the sketch that is the optional twist for this week’s challenge:

I took some yellow cardstock, I cut it at 4 by 5 1/5 inches, and I used a circular die from the Tonic Studios set to cut a window in the upper half of my front panel.

To back my window and to create the two stripes on the sides of my card I used patterned paper from the Doodlebug Spring Things 6×6″ paper pad.
I used Tombow Mono Multi glue to adhere everything in place, and I tucked the bee behind the window for an extra fun effect. The sentiment belongs to the Bee Happy Birdbrain digi set by From the Hearth Stamps, which is a freebie in their store. As a finishing touch I added some Nuvo Drops in Ebony Black in the spots suggested by the sketch.
And that’s it for today’s card! This was a really quick one to make –  after a few quite intricate cards (like this one over here, for example – talk about intricate!) I have to say that it felt really refreshing to make something pretty in a short amount of time! πŸ™‚ And I really hope you like it too!
You can find the list of all the supplies I used at the end of this post, together with the challenge guidelines, in case you decide to play along this week’s Friday Funday Challenge. Stay tuned for another super fun project tomorrow here on my blog, and in the meantime I wish you all a great day! Ciaooo!
