Halloween 2017 Card Making Series – Watercoloring with Gansai Tambi feat Bugaboo Stamps for FFC #202

Halloween Card feat Bugaboo stamps and Gansai Tambi Watercolors

Hello everyone! Today I am back with two very really exciting things: a new challenge at the Jo’s Scrap Shack blog, and the first video for my Halloween 2017 card making series! Yay! I am planning/hoping to have weekly Halloween themed videos until the end of October on my channel! I have a few already shot and a few more more or less planned – and I am really excited to be sharing them with you guys! Hopefully you will like them too!
But let’s focus on today and on another Funday Friday Challenge! The sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps, and I got the chance to play with these adorable digis from the Cute Halloween Set 1. If you want to find out how to play for the chance to win  4 images of your choice from the Bugaboo stamps shop, stick with me ’til the end of this post, and I will tell you all about it! 😉
For this card I decided to pull out my Gansai Tambi watercolors, so I printed the images using my Canon Pixma on some Canson XL watercolor cardstock using the pigment ink that comes with printers in the Pixma category. I cut down my panel to be a bit larger than a standard A2 size card, and I taped it on a hard board using some painters tape.
I then started watercoloring the images using my Gansai Tambi – I have the set of 36. The watercoloring process is show  described in the video below, so in this post I will just list the colors I used for each element in the cards. Luckily the pans in the Gansai Tambi palette are numbered, so the identifying the colors I used in your palette will be pretty straightforward. 🙂
For the cat body and the spider I used black (number 20), for his ears and nose I mixed together brown (number 46) and white (number 10), and for his hat I used deep violet (number 38), orange (number 33), and lemon yellow (40). For the pumpkins I used orange (number 33) and olive green (54). For the grass I used olive green (54), ever green (58), and black (20). Finally, for the sky I used deep violet (38), persian blue (63), and black (20). To create stars I splashed some silver (95) all over my sky, making sure I covered the rest of the areas with some paper scraps.
After everything was dry I trimmed down my watercolor panel to 4 by 5 1/4″, and I glued it on my black A2 card base using some Tombow Mono multi glue.
I then heat embossed my sentiment with white embossing powder by Ranger on some black cardstock. The sentiment comes from the Clearly Besotted All In Onesie Halloween – which hopefully will be featured soon in my Halloween series 🙂 I trimmed a thin banner around my sentiment and I glued it onto my card base.

If you want to see a more in depth tutorial on how I painted and assembled this card, you can watch the video on my YouTube channel by clicking on this link!
