Studio Katia December Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone! It’s finally time for a new Studio Katia release, and today we are celebrating with a fun blog hop with lots of possibilities for you to win along the way! 

I will give you all the details at the end of this post – for now let’s have a look at today’s card! 
It was really hard to pick a stamp set from the new release for this project…they are all so fabulous! In the end I decided to go for the Blooming Bunch set, and to color it using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
I cut my card base out of some Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock using one of the dies in the Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames set. I then stamped the floral image and the sentiment with Versafine ink in Onyx black, and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. I colored the images with my Zig markers, using miltiple layers to achieve a higher depth of color. The raised edges of the embossed lines help a lot in keeping the pigments confined to the respective areas, and prevent bleeding. For some finishing touches I added some sparkle to the flowers with my Spectrum Noir clear overlay pen and diluted some Distress Ink in Black Soot to add a few black splashes around the card base.

And that finished off my card.

    What a lovely card. The black splatters on the background really help that flower to pop. And I love the shading you managed with the zig markers. You really brought out all the shading and highlights in the image which makes it feel so alive. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!
