Hello everyone! Today I am back with a very special post, as this is my first project as part of the Create a Smile Stamps Challenge Design Team! If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook you will know by now that Create a Smile Stamps is launching a new card making challenge, and that I was selected, together with some really amazing crafters, to be part of the team that will be sharing inspiration for each challenge. I was really excited to be accepted on the team, and really impatient to get started – and the day has finally come! Welcome to the first challenge on the Create a Smile Stamps blog!
The theme for this week’s challenge is Tag It! so I decided to create a tag, and to spice it up a little by adding lots of fun dimension with foam tape.
To start off I stamped three of the leaves from the Create a Smile Stamps Time to Say Thanks stamp set on some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then colored them in with Prismacolor pencils and cut them with my Cutterbee Scissors.
I cut the base of my tag from some more Neenah Desert Storm cardstock with a die by Craftin Desert Divas and added some splatters with using white acrylic paint.
For the sentiment I used the for you saying from the Create a Smile Stamps Happy Days stamp set and I heat embossed it with white embossing powder on some black cardstock.
To create dimension on the leaves I used a double layer of foam tape on the tip of each leave, a single layer of foam tape in the center, and I glued down the bottoms directly onto the tag. This way they stand out nicely from the surface of the tag, and at the same time they are supported all the way through. As a finishing touch I added some white Nuvo drops and some white embroidery floss.
