Suspended Shaker with Ranger Alcohol Ink Background feat Lawn Fawn

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a suspended shaker I created for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge using stamps from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You and Fintastic Friends stamp sets. I also took this as an opportunity to play around with my new Ranger Alcohol Inks and create an ocean background with them. Let me tell you…these guys are addictive! I used Yupo paper and played around with the Turquoise and the Pistachio inks, and when I was happy with my background I moved on to my card.

I stamped my images with Versafine Onyx Black Ink on some Bristol Vellum paper (this might be my new go-to with Zigs), embossed them with clear embossing powder and colored them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. For the seaweed and the coral, because these are solid stamps, I used respectively Memento Dew Drops in Pear Tart and Love Letters.
I then started building my shaker. For the base I used some teal blue cardstock from the Neenah Astrobrights collection that I cut at a standard A2 size. For the shaker front I used the Tonic Studios Layering Circles to cut both the shaker window and the frame. I then backed the shaker front with some clear acetate.

I used two layers of craft foam to create dimension on my shaker, and for the suspension mechanism I used some nylon thread. I first taped it to the back of my mermaid and then sandwiched it between the two layers of craft foam. Just make sure that the thread is somewhat loose inside the shaker, so that the mermaid can swing around.

I then added the images to the shaker background, threw in some iridescent and blue confetti for some added sparkle, and assembled the shaker.

I completed my scene with a few images from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You and Fintastic Friends sets, and for the sentiment I did some heat embossing with white embossing powder over the same teal blue cardstock that I used on my card base. To create the banner I used one of the dies in the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling die set and the extended die cutting technique.

I also created a video tutorial for this card, you can watch it on my YouTube channel! If you did like the video you can tell me by leaving a comment or a like, and if you want to stay up to date with my content you can subscribe to my channel 😊 Thank you all for your support!

And that’s it for today! I really hope you liked this card and enjoyed the video!

I will be back soon with another fun project and, in the meantime, I wish you all a great day!
