Quick Watercolor Technique feat Studio Katia – The Daily Marker 30 Day Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a quick post showing you two cards I made for the Studio Katia blog, as part of a blog hop for Kathy Racoosin’s The Daily Marker 30 day challenge.

Both cards are made using the same technique and the same supplies. I used the Citrus Trimmings stamp set for my images and the Dotted Patterns Set 1 Creative dies to cut both the main panel and the central one, which is raised with some foam tape.

For the first card I stamped the images and the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors in shades of green to quickly paint in the background and create a dripping effect. I then added splatters and painted in some details to accent the images a bit more.

I added some finishing touches with Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew.

For the second card I repeated the same steps, but used Nuvo embossing powder in Shimmering Pearl, a yellow/orange palette and Nuvo Drops in White Blizzard.
I have to say I am really happy with these cards. They were quick to make and don’t require any special watercoloring skills, but I think the result is pretty and fun. Let me know in the comments below which is your favorite 🙂
Make sure to visit the Studio Katia blog to participate in the blog hop, and I will catch you guys soon with another fun project!
Have a great day!
