Card with Die Cuts Only feat Spellbinders

Hi everyone! Today I am back with something I don’t do very often: a card with no stamping, using only die cuts! This was really fun to make and I loved getting inky, so it’s definitely something I need to more often!
For today’s card I used dies from the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Sew Sweet Valentine and the Sew Sweet Sentiments, part of the Tammy Tatterow Sew Sweet Collection. These are absolutely gorgeous and for today’s card I decided to use them in combination with Distress Oxides. And before we move on, I wanted to let you know that, as I am writing this post, you can purchase these dies, as well as other great products by Spellbinders, for 25% off (click here to shop)

I first die cut all my elements out of some Windsor and Newton Cotman watercolor cardstock. For the card base I used the ink smooshing technique and Distress Oxides in Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon. For the heart in the front I did some ink blending with Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick, and for the one in the back I used Nuvo Mousse in Lilac Lavender, which added some beautiful shine to the project.

For the florals and the leaves I used again the ink smooshing technique and my Distress Oxides. For the leaves I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn, and for the flowers I used two different sets of inks: Shaded Lilac and Blueprint Sketch, and Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry.
Finally, for the sentiment, I used my Distress blending brush and again Distress Oxides in Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry to add some soft shading to my die cut words. I cut each of them three times and stacked the die cuts together, in order to create more dimension and interest on this card. And I really love how it turned out: it’s full of texture and dimension, and the shimmer brought in by the Nuvo mousse is really super pretty!
I also created a video showing the step by step process, you can watch it down below.
And that’s it for today! I really hope you guys enjoyed today’s project and the video, and don’t forget to check out the Goodbye Summer Sale at Spellbinders!
I will be back soon with another fun project, and, in the meantime, I wish you all a great day!
