STAMPtember 2018 Studio Katia Exclusive: Fresh Bunch Stamp Set – Watercoloring with Gansai Tambi

Hi everyone! I am super thrilled to be sharing this card with you, created with the Fresh Bunch stamp set, which is a collaboration set between Studio Katia and Simon Says stamp for STAMPtember 2018! This gorgeous set, which also comes with coordinating dies, will be available at Simon Says Stamp while supplies last. This means that, once it is sold out, it is gone forever! And STAMPtember sets go really fast, so, if you like this one, make sure to get is ASAP! πŸ™‚

For my card today I decided to do some watercoloring with Gansai Tambi Watercolors. First, I cut rectangular panel out of some Canson XL Watercolor cardstock with the Studio Katia Dotted Patterns Set 1 dies. I then stamped the image on two opposite corners of the panel with Versamark ink, coated the stamped lines with gold embossing powder, and heat set the powder with my heat gun.
At this point I started painting with my Gansai Tambi watercolors, which I mixed together to create a less bright palette, than the one I would have obtained if I had used my colors straight from the pan.

Here are the mixes I used:

Pink: 34, 53
Red: 32, 53
Wine Red: 36, 58
Lilac 1: 61, 139
Lilac 2: 61, 139 (higher percentage of 139 than in Lilac 1)
Purple: 38, 44
Green 1: 53, 40, 58
Green 2: 58, 53

In the video tutorial that you can find at the end of this post I will tell you a bit more about how and why I mixed these colors together, but now let’s come back to the card.

Once I was done painting I use the watercolors that had left in my pan to add some fun splatters to the background. I diluted some Perfect Pearls in Perfect Gold with water and added some golden droplets too, that tie in nicely with the embossed line. I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder on some wine red cardstock and I created a banner around it.

For my card base I used one of the papers in the Studio Light Wood Boards (Teal) 6×6 paper pad. I cut it to an A2 size with the Studio Katia Darling Ribbon and Frames Creative dies and added some shading with Distress Inks in Tea Dye, Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso.
I raised the watercolored panel on the background using some fun foam, and, as a finishing touch, I glued some Gold Foil Confetti by Studio Katia.
And here’s a close up where you can see al the golden shine! Sooo pretty!

I mounted everything on a top-folding A2 card base, and added some decoration to the inside by stamping the image in the Fresh Bunch set and the sentiment “have a wonderful day” with Distress Oxide in Aged Mahogany.
As I mentioned, I also created a video tutorial showing you the card making process – you can watch it down below. And don’t forget to let me know what you think about it and to leave a thumbs up if you like it!
