Alcohol Inks and Acetate – Sweet2Repeat Blog Hop

For the background I used Alcohol Inks in Denim and Cool Peri. I added a few drops on a piece of Yupo paper, and used some blending solution to help the inks move. Once  the inks were dry, because they remained a little sticky, I added a sheet of acetate on top of the yupo paper. The acetate stuck to the darker areas, where the alcohol inks are more concentrated and consequently more sticky. This produced a cool (and unexpected) stained glass effect. Talk about happy accidents! 😉

In order to set the scene I die cut some black cardstock with the SpookyScape dies, and added some highlights with prismacolor pencils. I also created a frame out of some more black cardstock with the Card Front Element Builder dies.
Finally, for the moon, I used one of the dies in the To Infinity and Beyond set, and did some coloring with Spectrum Noir markers.

I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder, and adhered everything to a top-folding A2 card base, and that finished off my card! And that’s it for today!
