Using Patterned Paper on Cards – Spring Card feat Doodlebug and C.C. Designs Ladybug

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a card I created with the new C.C. Designs Ladybug rubber stamp and patterned papers from the Doodlebug Spring Things paper pad.
I think patterned papers are really fun to use, and are quite the lifesaver when I struggle for inspiration. In those cases I search for sketches on Google and pick a paper pad that helps me with my color scheme.

For this card I followed this sketch here and modified it a bit.
I then picked three papers from the Doodlebug Spring Things paper pad. I chose one with a bit of a more detailed and busy design (the pink one), and two with more subtle designs (the yellow and the green one). This way I felt I had the right amount of interest and detail on the background, without it overpowering the focal image.
I then used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables, the C.C. Designs In and Out Circle Metal Dies and the C.C. Designs In and Out Rectangle dies to die cut my patterned paper.

As a focal image for my card I used the C.C. Designs Ladybug rubber stamp. I stamped it on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock with My Favorite Things Hybrid Black ink and colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
I used Pink 025, Yellow 050, Light Green 041, Mustard 067 and Oatmeal 046 for the hair, Flesh Color 071 and Beige 072 for the skin, and Haze Blue 302 to shade the wings and the flower petals.

I cut the image with my scissors, and for the sentiment I used some strips that I trimmed out of some more papers in the Doodlebug Spring Things paper pad.
I assembled everything on a top folding A2 card base. I raised the image on some foam tape and added Studio Katia Irirdescent Hearts to embellish the card.
