Distress Oxide Techniques – Distress Micro Glaze and Alcohol Ink Cardstock feat SugarPea Designs

Valentines Day Card Distress Oxides Micro Glaze

Hi everyone! It’s Laura here, and today I have a video tutorial to share with you, showing how I created a cute Valentine’s day card with the Otterly Adorable stamp set! This video is part of a new feature on the SugarPea Designs YouTube channel, so make sure to subscribe there for more inspiration!

The images were colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. For the background I used a fun technique, which involves using Distress Oxides on Alcohol Ink cardstock and coating everything with Distress Micro Glaze. Make sure to check out the tutorial to see it in action, it is a very fun one!

I the used the Heart Journal Dies to die cut the Distress Oxide panel, and for the card background I used papers from the Spots and Stripes Brights Paper Pad. I die cut the pink one with one of the dies in the Card Front Element Builder and added a strip of white cardstock to break up the design. The  Distress Oxide panel is raised on foam tape.

For the sentiment I combined the die cut love, from the Heart Journal Card, with the love you like no otter sentiment in the Otterly Adorable stamp set. I masked off the word love from the sentiment, and did some heat embossing with white embossing powder.

For some finishing touches I added Glossy Accents to the love die cut, and to the red bow and the eyes of the otter. For the pink bow and the heart in the speech bubble I used Crystal Stickles.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I have filmed a video tutorial for this card. You can watch it down below! And don’t forget to subscribe to the SugarPea Designs channel for more inspiration!

And that’s it for today! I really hope you liked today’s card and enjoyed the video! Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!
