Valentine’s Day Card Duo for the Pet Lovers | C.C. Designs Cutie Cats and Puppy Power

Hi everyone! The time for Christmas cards is now over, and today I am back with some Valentine’s day inspiration! I created two sweet cards using the same design, one featuring some cute kitties and the other some adorable puppies – just perfect for the animal lovers out there!

As a first step I stamped my images with My Favorite Things Black Licorice Hybrid ink and colored them with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. The kitties are from the Cutie Cats stamp set, and the puppies from the Puppy Power stamp set.

Once I was done coloring I used the Cutie Cats and Poppy Power coordinating dies to die cut my images.

I then moved on to the background. I die cut some Yupo Paper with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches dies and added color with my Ranger alcohol inks. For the card with the kitties I used Pink Sherbet and Flamingo…

…and for the one with the puppies I used Cloudy Blue and Turquoise.

In both cases I used the blending solution to help me move the colors around. Alcohol inks are a really fun way to quickly create very interesting backgounds, I love them!
At this point I set the backgrounds aside to dry and in the meantime I worked on the other elements of my card.

I die cut some white cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Selfie Frames Dies and some black cardstock with the largest of the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables.
I heat embossed the sentiments with white embossing powder over some more black cardstock, and die cut a strip around it with the Heffy Doodle Strips of Ease dies.

I assembled everything onto two top folding A2 card bases, and moved on to the finishing touches.
I added white higlights with my Sakura Gelly Roll Pen and some Nuvo Drops on the backround. On the card with the cats I used White Blizzard Nuvo Drops…

and on the one with the dogs I used Sea Breeze Nuvo Drops.

And that’s it for today! I really hope you enjoyed today’s post, and I hope I ispired you to create with the adorable Cutie Cats and Puppy Power stamp sets! And let me know in the comments below which one is your favorite!

I will be back soon with another fun project, and, in the meantime, I wish you all a great day!
