Foiling Techniques: Negative Foiling feat Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month
Hi everyone! Today I am back with some cardmaking inspiration with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month for February 2019. The kit includes a gold Hot Foil Roll, two banner dies, and sentiment glimmer plates that you can use to create some gorgeous foiled sentiments!

And if you haven’t played with foiling yet there is a great offer on the Spellbinders store: if you subscribe to the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month you will get 10% off the purchase of the Glimmer Hot Foil System!

If you are interested in the kit, you can find more information at this link – and if you’d like to get one, I advice that you do it fast, as last month’s kit sold out in just a few days!
But now it’s time to talk about today’s cards! I used the same design and a little trick that I learned at Creativation to create two cards out of one foiled sentiment.

I started by foiling the sentiment Just for You using one of the glimmer plates in the kit. I use the gold hot foil roll, also included in the kit, and foiled over black cardstock.

I then used the “leftover” foil to foil some more black cardstock. I sandwiched it between several cardstock sheets, so that I would have enough thickness and the the foil would stick homogeneously. This way I got a the negative impression of the foiled sentiment. You can see it in the picture below.

I then used the flag banner die in the kit to die cut two sentiment banners.
For the card I used two patterned papers from the Spellbinders You’re My Type 6×6″ paper pad. I created a similar design, but inverted the position of the patterned papers so that I would obtain two different cards.

I matted one with black cardstock and the other with gold cardstock, and mounted them on A2 sized white card bases.
And these are my cards for today! Really quick and easy, but with a definite wow factor added by the foiling. I have also shared a short video on my Facebook and Instagram profiles showing how I put the cards together. You can visit me there if you’d like to watch it!
Again, if you are interested in the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month you can subscribe to it on the Spellbinders store. And remember that, if you do, you can get 10% off the purchase of the Glimmer Hot Foil System.

If you are unfamiliar with the Glimmer Hot Foil System you can watch my Unboxing and Inspiration video at this address.

And that’s it for today! I really hope you like today’s cards and enjoyed the post! I will be back soon with another fun project, and in the meantime I wish you all a great day!
