Distress Oxide Ocean Background | Cute Summer Card feat Impronte d’Autore and Lawn Fawn

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a fun summer card, created with the wonderful Impronte d’Autore mermaids and dies from the latest Lawn Fawn release.
As a first step I stamped the images from the plates Viva le Vacanze and Giochi tra le Onde by Impronte d’Autore. I used Stella, the stamp platform by Impronte d’Autore, Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Neenah Solar White cardstock by Crafters Companion. To color the images I used my Nuvo alcohol markers.

I then moved on and created the background. For the sand I die cut some Bristol smooth cardstock with one of the dies in the Lawn Fawn Stitched Simple Wavy Borders set, and the largest die in the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I then blended Distress Oxides in Antique Linen and Tea Dye and added some droplets with those same Distress Oxides and some water.
For the ocean background I die cut some more Bristol smooth cardstock with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die. I then blended Distress Oxide in Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio, creating a gradient on my panel. Also in this case I spritzed water on the background to create some droplets.
I then created a DIY stencil by die cutting some cardstock with one of the dies in the Stitched Simple Wavy Borders by Lawn Fawn. I used the same Distress Oxides that I had blended on the ocean background and the stencil to create some tone on tone waves.

I heat embossed the sentiment, which is part of the Mermaid for You stamp set by Lawn Fawn, with white powder on black cardstock. I used my scissors to trim it out.

I then assembled the scene, using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to glue everything down. The seaweed on the background is also part of the Mermaid for You stamp set. I stamped it with Memento ink in Pear Tart and I die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I then moved on and started working on the finishing touches. I added some white gel pen details to the images to create some highlghts, and then covered the Mermaids’ tails and the stars in their hair with Crystal Stickles.

I added some Glossy Accents on the ball fish’s eyes which, together with the dolphin, I also coated in glitter with a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Pen.

Lastly, I created some water bubbles with Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew.

And here is a close up pictures, in which you can see all the sparkle as well as the effect of the Nuvo Drops! I LOVE adding this kind of details to my cards!

And that’s it for today! I really hope you enjoyed this post and I hope I inspired you to create with these beautiful mermaids by Impronte d’Autore!
Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day
