Spellbinders and FSJ Hello Summer Blog Hop + Giveaways

Hi everyone! Today I am joining a fun blog hop to celebrate the Spellbinders + FSJ Hello Summer collection! This release is full of really beautiful products, and you can check them all out here.

The hop today is full of wonderful inspiration, and there is a GC to be won. More details at the end of this post, but for now, let’s have a look at the cards I created.

For my first card I used the Dream Seeker and the Windy Sky stamp sets.
I created my background with the FSJ Watermelon Fusion and Catalina Splash Liquid Colors. I added a few drops from both on a make up sponge, and used that to ink up the Windy Sky rubber stamp. I then stamped the image on some white cardstock, and obtained this fun and colorful background.

v
All the images come from the Dream Seeker stamp set. I stamped them with FSJ Black Licorice ink and I colored the whale with Spectrum Noir Markers. I added some detail with a white gel pen and some sparkle with a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay pen.

To create the front panel, I die cut some white cardstock with the Spellbinders Lucky Clouds and the FSJ Circle Around dies. I mounted everything on a black base, cut at 4.25 by 5.5″.

I used the FSJ Sparkle Silk to add some shimmery droplets to my card front, and here you can see all the shine. And in person it is even more beautiful!

For card number two I used the Sparkle Mermaid Tail die, the beautiful Splash Zone stencil and the Be Different stamp.

I added color to the mermaid’s tail again using the FSJ liquid colors and a make up sponge. I then added sparkle to the base die cut by applying FSJ Sparkle Silk with a sponge, and some white gel pen details to the top die cut.

For the card background I cut some white cardstock with the Spellbinders Lucky Clouds dies, and blended FSJ ink in Turbo Teal through the Splash Zone stencil. I sprinkled some FSJ Sparkle Silk on the background, to add shimmer to it.

The sentiment stamp comes from the Be Different stamp set, and was stamped with FSJ Black Licorice ink. The mermaid’s tail is raised over one layer of foam tape.

As a finishing touch I added some Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew. These, when dry, look like water droplets, and I put them around the mermaid’s tail, as I wanted to give the impression that these were splashes created by tail coming out of the water.

And here is a close up picture, showing all the sparkle!

And now it’s time to talk about giveaways!
