Ink Blended Background | Winter Card feat Paper Nest Dolls Gingerbread House
Hi everyone! Today I am really thrilled to be sharing this card as a guest designer for The Paper Nest Dolls! In case you are not familiar with this brand, they produce the cutest rubber stamps – the quality is superb!
For my card today I used the Gingerbread House set, which I absolutely adore! I didn’t get around to using it before Christmas, so I used a color palette that would work for a winter card and, I feel, for a Valentine’s day card too!

I started by stamping the Gingerbread House on some Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock with Spectrum Noir Finesse Black Ink. I colored it with my Illustrator markers and fussy cut it with my scissors. I also added some highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen.

For my card background I started by die cutting some Bristol Smooth cardstock with the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine dies. I added some ink blending with my Studio Katia Blending Brushes and Spectrum Noir Harmony Inks in Plum Jam, Fuchsia and Pink Tulip. These are water reactive dye inks and the colors are super bright!
To add some shine to the background, I spritzed it with a solution of water and Perfect Pearls that I keep in a mini mister. The effect is subtle yet really pretty!

For the sentiment I used the Mama Elephant Made with Love die, and I trimmed the top portion of my die cut, so that I could obtain the greeting With Love. I glued everything to a top-folding A2 card base, cut to 4 1/4 by 11 inches and score at 5 1/2 inches, and that finished my card for today.
A big thank you to Christine for the opportunity to guest design for The Paper Nest Dolls, and I wish you all a wonderful day!
