Watercolor Card feat White Night Watercolors and Oddball Art Stamps

Hi everyone! Friday has finally come, which also means it’s time for a new challenge over at the Jo’s Scrap Shack blog! This week’s sponsor is Oddball Art and today I am featuring this cute “I scream love” digital stamp!

To make this card I printed my digi on some Canson XL watercolor paper using my Canon Pixma TS5050 printer, and I used my White Night watercolors to paint it the images and the background. If you want to know more about these watercolors, that I honestly find really great, you can visit my first impression and swatch post. For the background I used the wet on wet technique: I used a brush to put down water everywhere apart from the areas where my images are, and I added some very diluted turquoise. I also masked the images with some copy paper and added some fun splatters to the background for a bit of variation. For the ice cream I used a couple of browns and a green that I mixed from colors in my palette, and I used the wet on dry technique. Once everything was dry I used my white gel pen to add in some detail, and I trimmed my panel using the largest from the Craftin Desert Divas Fancy Frames dies. The die cuts a nice scalloped edge and also embosses a fun stitched detail.
For my card base I used some green cardstock from the Crafters’ Companion Astrobrights Collection, and I trimmed it down to 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″. I also took some black cardstock, I cut it to 3 7/8″ by 5 1/8″, and I stamped one of the hearths from the Lawn Here’s the Scoop stam set in a random pattern. I used Distress Oxide in Twisted Citron for the stamping. The sentiment comes from the same Lawn Fawn set, and I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the same green cardstock I used for my card base. I created a banner for my sentiment using the MFT Stitched Sentiment Strips, and I adhered all the elements to my card base. As a final touch I used Nuvo Drops in White Blizzard to add some sparkle.
And that’s it for today’s card! I really hope you guys like it, and I encourage you to enter your projects in this week’s Friday Funday Challenge for a chance to win 3 digital stamps from the Oddball Art Etsy shop
