Studio Katia Fall+Winter Release Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a fun shaker card I made for the Studio Katia Fall+Winter release blog hop! This release includes 7 new clear stamp sets and coordinating dies, 4 new stand alone Creative Dies and 9 new embellishments, and is now available for purchase in the Studio Katia store!

Also stick with me until the end of this post because there is going to be a very nice surprise for you guys! 😉 But for now let’s have a look at how I made this card.

Most of the images come from the new Studio Katia Meowy Halloween stamp set; only the spider hanging from the spiderweb belongs to the Kobi the Grim Reaper stamp set. I also used the Dotted Patterns – Nested Squares set, and some of the new, beautiful embellishments.
To start off I stamped all the images on Neenah Solar white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers, and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I really love that the die for the cat cuts out its little paws, so that I could tuck the treat basket right in…I find it super cute! I also used two more dies in the Studio Katia Meowy Halloween set to cut out the spooky faces in the pumpkins – so fun!
For my background I did some emboss resist + ink smooshing with Distress Oxides. I randomly stamped some of the smaller images in the Meowy Halloween set on some Canson XL watercolor paper, and heat embossed them using Nuvo Clear Glitter embossing powder. For the ink smooshing technique I used Distress Oxides in Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmelade. I also added some black splatters using Distress Oxide in Black Soot.

For the shaker window I cut a frame out of some black cardstock using the two largest dies in the Dotted Patterns – Nested Squares set and I backed it with some acetate. I used two layers of 3M foam tape to coat the back of my window frame, to make sure that the sequins would be able to shake freely. I used the Majestic and Iridescent Veil 3mm sequins, and then adhered my background to the shaker window.
The sentiment is heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock using Ranger white embossing powder.
For a finishing touch I added some sparkle to the cat’s hat, collar, and treat basket with my Spectrum Noir clear overlay pen, and I glued a few of the new Iridescent Clear Crystals on the sentiment strip.
And that’s it for my card…but it’s far away from over for this blog post!  Why is that? Well, because we are having a….

Wonderful to see you showcasing Studio Katia's Meowy Halloween images that, in your hands, have become absolutely magical! Your kitty in the pumpkin patch is adorable; the shaker element adds such impact! I have upwards of 60-70 mini cards/tags to make for my niece and nephew's classmates, for both Halloween AND Christmas; a number of the stamps/dies are calling my name – loudly! Thank you for the inspiration and smiles!

That's a lovely card !!! You've done a great job on coloring the cat and the pumpkins. I love the fact you've turned it into a shaker card, this is always more fun !!! And I really love the detail of the spider : the spider web being behind the frame but on top of your sentiment strip, that gives an illusion of reality and dimension, well done !!

Thanks for Sharing Your Thoughts! :)
