Hawaii Inspired Summer Card feat Heffy Doodle Stamps

Hi everyone! Today I want to show you a card I made for the Heffy Doodle Stamps Summer Loving challenge, inspired to some views of Paia, Maui, that I had the opportunity to see during a trip to Hawaii a few years ago. Maui is such a beautiful island, and because it is so far from where I live I am not sure I will have the possibility to see it again, so I was happy to be able to recreate it on a card.
Plus, sometimes we do need to remind ourselves that, despite the obstacles, life is good ๐Ÿ™‚ And I hope this card serves as a reminder to those who might need it, including, at times, myself.

I used images from several different sets: the cute bear, who is the protagonist of todayโ€™s card, is one of the images from the Heffy Doodle Unbearable Without You stamp set. The surf boards and the Lei are from the Create a Smile Stamps Dress Me Up set, the fence is one of the images in the My Facebook Things Hog Heaven stamp set, and the sentiment and the palm trees come from the Lawn Fawn Life is Good stamp set.

All the images were stamped on Neenah Solar White 100 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

For the wooden beams I used a fun technique that I learned from Gina K. As a first step I took some Bristol Vellum cardstock and die cut with the A2 stitched rectangle in the Heffy Doodle Clover Frames Dies. I then created score marks at regular intervals with my score board and finally I swiped my Distress Ink mini cubes on the panel, moving from the edges inwards, and following the direction of the score lines. I used Distress Inks in Tea Dye and Gathered Twigs and let the panel aside to dry.
For my sunset sky I used again Bristol Vellum and the Heffy Doodle Clover Frames dies, and I did some Ink blending using Distress Inks in Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmelade and Mustard Seeds.
I adhered everything on a top-folding white A2 card base and that finished off my card.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post I will be entering my project in the #heffydoodlechallenge Summer Loving. I am having so much fun creating summer themed cards with Heffy Doodle products, I will be definitely creating more even after the end of the challenge!
And thatโ€™s it for today! Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!
