Combining Patterned Paper on a Card – Create a Smile Challenge

Hi everyone! It’s time for a new challenge on the Create a Smile stamps blog, and this time the theme is summer cards! I had a few ideas in mind, but in the end I just had to use this fun bear from the Dress Me Up stamp set! I also finally used some of the beautiful patterned papers from the Create a Smile Beach Party kit, which I bought last year and have been hoarding ever since! And I am so glad I did, because the result is a very bright and fun card!

As a first step I stamped all the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on some Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and colored them with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. I picked a few different designs from the patterned paper collection in the Create a Smile Stamps Beach Party kit and created the elements for my card layout. I used the two larger dies in the Lawn Fawn Large Stitiched Rectangle Stackables and one of the dies in the Tonic Studios Layering Circles.
I adhered everything on a top-folding A2 card base and, to finish off the card, I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins, part of a mix included in the kit.
And now it’s your time to get creative! Make a summer theme project following the challenge rules and use the link up tool on the Create a Smile Stamps blog to enter for a chance to win 25€ to be spent in the Create a Smile Stamps store! We look forward to seeing your beautiful creations!
