Winter Vellum Shaker card feat Studio Katia Holiday Village

Laura Volpes Header

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a winter vellum shaker card, created with the beautiful Holiday Village stamp set for the Studio Katia blog. As a first step I stamped my images on Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I then cut them with the coordinating dies.

I then created some hills with the Trimmings Borders and added some shading with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass. To add some interest and some sparkle I coated the hills and the snow on the houses with my Spectrum Noir clear overlay pen. I really love the look of glitter on a winter scene!

For my shaker front I cut some white cardstock using dies from the Darling Ribbon and Frames set and the Dotted Scallop Oblong set. For the shaker background I did some ink blending with Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick, Shaded Lilac and Broken China. The embellishments I used to fill in the shaker are the Majestic Sequin Mix, the Crystal Clear Sequin Mix, the Clear Dust Seed Beads and the Iridescent Dust Seed Beads.

For the shaker window I used vellum instead of acetate. I wanted to go for a different look, and I think vellum works really well for this winter scene, as it gives a bit of a frosty look to it. I stamped the sentiment from the Holiday Village set using Distress Oxide in Stormy Sky and, for a finishing touch, I glued a few Iridescent Ice Flakes to the card front.
And thatโ€™s it for today! I really hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope I inspired you to create with the lovely Holiday Village stamp set!

Thank you all so much for stopping by , and have a great day!
