Handmade Bookmark Tag feat Impronte d’Autore

Hi everyone! Today I am on the Impronte d’Autore blog with a step by step tutorial in which I share how to create two bookmark tags with stamps from the Wizard of Oz series.
I images I used are part of the sets Il Mago di Oz and La Magia Γ¨ Credere by Impronte d’Autore. These are available in English as unmounted rubber stamps here and here. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black in on Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and I colored them with Nuvo markers. I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.
I added some details with a white del pen and created the illusion of sparlke on Glenda’s dress.
I then moved on and created my bookmark tags. I die cut some watercolor cardstock wit the Impronte d’Autore Tag die and I added color with Distress Oxide.
For the first bookmark I used Tea Dye, Wild Honey and Scattered Straw on the main die cut. I  watercolored the rectangular die cut with Distress Oxide in Shaded Lilac and Milled Lavender.
Lastly, I added some intrerest with some water droplets on both panels. I als added some Shaded Lilac splatters on the rectangular one.

For the second bookmark I used the same techniques, but different colors. I blended Distress Oxide in Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass on the tag and I watercolored the rectangular die cut with Pine Needles, Evergreen Bough e Cracked Pistachio. The dark droplets on the latters were created with Distress Oxide in Pine Needles.
I then decorated the my bookmark elements.
I embellished the first tab by embossing the flowers in the stamp set Sei Capace di PiΓΉ  (English version here)with white embossing powder. With the same powder I also embossed the sentiment, which comes from the set La Magia Γ¨ nel Credere (English version here). It translates to “magic is believing in yourself. If you can do that, you can make anything happen”
For the second bookmark I did some stamping with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. The images I used for the tag come from the set Il Mago di Oz (English version here), while the sentiment is one of the stamps in the set Coraggio (English version here).
I then assembled my bookmark tags, gluing all the elements to one another. I left the first one as is…
…and added a stitched detail with a white gel pen to the second one.

And that finished off my projects. I think these DIY bookmarks would make for a great handmade gift…I love the idea that the recipient will find him/herself in front of these encouraging sentiments every time they open their books!

And that’s it for today! I really hope you enjoyed this post and I hope I inspired you to create with these wonderful stamps!
