Blended Rainbow with Distress Inks – C.C. Designs March 2019 Release

Hi everyone! The new C.C. Designs Release is out, and I couldn’t be more excited to share with you an adorable card I created with the new April & May stamp set! Before moving on and talking about today’s card, I wanted to let you know that, if you are interested in the new release, you can use code LAURV90 for 5% off your order on the C.C. Designs store.

To start off my card I created my backgrounds. I die cut some Bristol Smooth cardstock by Strathmore with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables and I did some ink blending with Distress Inks. I used Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass.

I then stamped the clouds and the rain drops with Versamark ink all over the panel and embossed them with WOW Sparkling Snow embossing powder. this is a white embossing powder, which has glitter in it – so fun! As a final step, I used a wet brush to reactivate the Distress Inks inside the clouds and dabbed off the water and the ink with a paper towel. This way I lifted off some of the pigment in those areas and obtained clouds that are slighly lighter than the background.

For the rainbow panel I used the My Favorite Things Blueprint 31 dies and blended Distress Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry. The cardstock I used was again Strathmore Bristol Smooth.

I then moved on and started working on my images. I stamped them with Scrapbook.com Premium Hybrid Ink on Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and colored them with Copic and Spectrum Noir Markers. I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

Next, I die cut some Bristol Smooth cardstock with the C.C. Designs In & Out Circles. I added color to the central part using Distress Ink in Peacock Feather and the ink smooshing technique. For the frame I did some ink blending with Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry.

I heat embossed my sentiment, also part of the April & May stamp set, with white embossing powder on a strip of black cardstock. I glued everything to a top-folding A2 card base and, as a finishing touch, I added glossy accents to the hat and raincoat of the bear and to the centers of the flowers.

And that’s my card for today! So cute thanks to these adorable critters! Make sure to visit the C.C. Designs store to check out all the new products and remember that you can use code LAURV90 for 5% off your order on the C.C. Designs store!

Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!
