Ocean Background with Alcohol Inks – Summer Scene Card feat C.C. Designs June & July stamps

Hi everyone! The new release by C.C. Designs is almost there, and today I am sharing a super fun and adorable card created with the new June&July stamp set! Look at those critters, aren’t they cute? I love them!

I started by stamping the images with Scrapbook.com Premium Hybrid Black ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and I colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers. All the images are from the June & July set, except for the cloud, which comes from the C.C. Designs April & May set.
Once I was done coloring, I die cut all the images with their matching dies.

The rounded rectangle over which I built my scene was die cut using one of the dies in the MFT Blueprints 31 Die-Namics. The base layer is the sky, where I created some soft clouds by blending Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers over the new C.C. Designs Clouds & Grasses Stencil. I used some stencil brushes to get a soft look.

For the waves I combined the Blueprint 31 Die-Namics with the Ocean Waves Die-Namics. I die cut some Yupo paper and used alcohol inks in Denim, Turquoise and Pistachio to add color and texture to the waves.

The sand bank was created with the MFT Blueprint 31 Die-Namics and the Stitched Valley Die-Namics. I cut some Bristol Smooth cardstock and inked it with Distress Inks in Antique Linen and Vintage Photo. I then added some splatters with Vintage Photo to create additional texture.

For the card base I die cut a wood grain design from a paper pad by Studio Light. I used the largest die in the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables, which cuts exactly a 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ rectangle.
I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder over some black cardstock, and I die cut a banner around it with another die from the MFT Blueprint 31 Die-Namics.

I added some glitter with a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay pen to the sun, the cloud, as well as to the bear’s hat and floatie.

I then used Glossy Accents to coat the bunny’s surf, its swimming suite, the bear’s hat, the floatie, and the little heart on its vest. Once the Glossy Accents were completely dry, I added some highlights with a white gel pen.

And that’s my card for today! Stay tuned for the new release tomorrow, and don’t forget to leave a comment on this post for a chance to win all the new products! You can find more details about the blog hop and the giveaway on the C.C. Designs blog.
