Cardmaking Inspiration with the Spellbinders Artomology collection by Jane Davenport

Hi everyone! Today I am back with some inspiration using the new Spellbinders Artomology collection by Jane Davenport! I am in love with the style of these prodcuts, and I was really thrilled to get the opportunity to play with them! And , as I was so excited, I made two cards.

For my first card I used the gorgeous Marcia Makeover Etched Dies. I die cut the outline from black cardstock, and the rest from some Bristol Smooth cardstock. To add color to the hair I used the Chilled Pastell Palette, which is absolutely stunning! I love the packaging and the pastels are really smooth and pigmented! I applied them with some dual tip foam applicators like these ones, using different colors from the palette.

For the face I used Distress Ink in Tattered Rose, and I created a pearl necklace with Nuvo Drops.
The card base was cut out of black cardstock, and measures 9×4 inches. The background panel is 0.25″ smaller than the card base, and I used Distress Inks in Carved Pumpkin, Wild Honey, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade to create a watercolor ombre effect.

I decorated the card with some floral die cuts. These were cut using the smaller dies in the Marcia Makeover Etched Dies and colored wit the Chilled Pastell Palette.
For the sentiment I used dies from the Spellbinders Sew Sweet Sentiments set, and that finished off my first project.

For my second project I used the Mermaid Tail Swatch Stamp and Die Set, which is another fantastic product from the Artomology collection by Jane Davenport! This will work great to create ink swatches – and I am plannig to do that in the future – but for today I wanted to use it to create a shaker card.

I started by stamping the mermaid tail on white cardstock three times, and I then used Spectrum Noir markers for my coloring. I die cut the images with the die in the set, and I trimmed off the top part. I also die cut the centers to create the window for my shakers. The shaker elements are some confetti and some sead beads from my stash.

For the card background I die cut some Bristol Smooth cardstock with the Lucky Clouds dies by Spellbinders. I created an ombre effect with some of the colors in the Chilled Pastell Palette, which I applied with some make up sponges.

I mounted everything on black A2 base, and for the sentiment I used one of the dies in the Spellbinders May Card Kit of the Month.
For some finishing touches I used Nuvo Drops in Simply White, Glossy Accents on the sentiment, and a white Sakura Gelly Roll Pen to create highlights on the mermaid tails.

And that’s it for today! I really had fun creating with these products, they are so unique and beautiful – and I hope you enjoyed my inspiration too!
Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!
